Tide is great for cloth diapers! Actually it's one of the highest recommended mainstream detergents! It's formulated to not leave residue behind (as are most true detergents, vs laundry 'soap' which CAN leave residue). It sounds like your LO might just be a heavy wetter! At around that same age we started needing 2 layers of absorbancy consistently. Maybe invest in some more slim doublers or size up in the pants and embrace the fluffy butt

The same thing happened to us. She just got big enough that they couldn't absorb all of the pee! Adding in doublers solve the problem (we used flips too).

I've definitely heard of people using Tide on cloth, but I think Tide might be a type of detergent that can leave residue. Sometimes leaks are a fit issue--when the diapers are on, do you notice any gaps near the waist or thighs? Have you checked the elastic? It could be that you just don't have enough absorbency in there for the amount that she pees in one go. Hemp is usually a thinner option that absorbs well; I'd try one or two of your doublers. As annoying as it is, we got to a point where Lorelei was around 18 months or so when we had to use giant prefolds because nothing else was up to the sheer volume. We ended up having to buy pants a size up and ones that had a looser fit because her cloth bum was a bit ridiculous. Harem pants were a big winner. Hope you find something that works!

You could try stripping to make sure they are absolutely clean and get rid of any residue that may be on the diapers. You may need to use the infant insert as well. We stopped using cloth when H started soaking through her diapers regularly (around 21 months).

I am not sure what the scoop is here but my daughter keeps soaking her diapers and they leak. I don't think it's a repelling issue because the inserts are genuinely soaked. I typically change her every two hours but it's happened in 60-90 minutes and I will go insane if I just have to change her hourly.

We use flips with both stay dry inserts and the cotton ones. I have prefolds but they are enormous and make her pants all not fit... I also have a few hemp inserts or doublers.

We wash with Tide if that makes a difference.
She's almost 1.

Help! Thanks!
