Mine aren't Fryes but old and do this. I have extended calf but they aren't too tight.

@Alivoo01: I really don't think my calves are actually large, it's just the frye boot sizing is weird!

@nana87: @pwnstar: Gotcha. I do have large calves. Guess I need to look into extended calf sizing.

@Anagram: I wouldn't be bothered if this happened while walking or from old wear and tear. however, these a brand spanking new. Haven't even worn them out yet. I just put them on and noticed the bunching.

My Steve Madden boots do this too and they are pretty roomy in the calf. I thought this was normal for real leather boots, since leather stretches and your ankle moves so much when walking.

My boots do this too (Lucky Brand, pebbled leather) but there's plenty of room up top..

That's interesting about boots being tight at the top. My boots are not tight on my calves at all, and I still get bunching with one pair, but again, the leathers are different.

@Alivoo01: If there isn't any extra room at the top (where your calf is), you're much more likely to get bunching. The only way to get rid of the bunching is to size up (or get the same size with a larger calf circumference, if available) or wear thinner bottoms (if you're wearing jeans or thick tights).

This is why I get the extended calf sizing. I have the same boots! The larger calf sizing helps

@pwnstar: @Truth Bombs: They fit snugly around my calves, but they're pulled up all the way.

@PurplePumps: Yea, they're really bothering me so I'm going to return them. I'm so sad! lol

I had the same thought as @pwnstar: This can happen if they are tight on your calf and can't be pulled all the way up to stay straight.

Yet another problem with knee high boots! That would bother me.

You know how some look tilted forward in the ad? Those are most likely the ones that will bunch, know what I mean? I don't know why they make them like that.

I think it may depend on the leather. I have 2 pairs of Fryes that are the exact same style but one pair is about the same color as yours and the other pair is black. The leather on the tan pair is softer and kind of bunches. The black pair is smooth/stiff leather and they don't bunch.

I own those boots and have the same issue. It bothers me because I kind of think they're a 1/2 size too small so why are they bunching?!?!

I have a pair of Frye boots, but when I put them on, they bunch around my ankles. Is this normal? I expected them to be smooth/straight and only bunch when I'm walking. Not when I'm standing still. They fit me size wise, if not a bit snug.
