@CupQuakeWalk: I wonder if it's like the "broken window" theory of crime management. Like...when my husband is messy, I'm more likely to be messy (And vice versa).

So when I was single, it was so much easier because I would clean my house, no one else was there to mess it up, and I was more likely to do the small amount of work to clean up after just myself and keep it looking nice. But now if I come home from work and there is already a messy pile of shoes by the door--to make it neat, I have to stop and tidy ALL the shoes and remove the socks and put them in the dirty laundry bin. I don't want to do that when I first get home from work, so I just add my shoes to the growing pile. If I were alone, I would put my shoes neatly on our shoe rack.

Like, some of it was from a year ago!! wtf?? what is the point of even opening it now? now a days, i try to open his mail or go through it every few days and ask him whats trash and whats to keep. ugh!

@mfa_lady: I have intentional piles and specific places I put them. DH just leaves crap everywhere and disregards my system (I keep the bills in a specific spot and he just throws them wherever). It drives me up the wall.

Also, what is so hard about putting the garbage bag IN the trash can? So many Mondays, I open up the can and find garbage in it, but no bag. WHYYYYYYY?

@Cherrybee: Lmao my husband is awful with socks. He also hides them in the couch cushions for whatever reason. He is so much more tidy than me though so I just pick them up. I gotta get better about this house cleaning stuff!

@Cherrybee: ya know? 2 weeks ago I'd say it was both of us; we're both guilty. BUT! Then DH went out of town for 4-5days and guess what? The house stayed IMMACULATE. Yep, a 1 year old an a solo mama kept the house sparkly clean. So, I'll let you point the finger to who is really the tornado in our household  . Huff.

Omg, I am neat freak and my husband is a mess
1- he does not understand how to put toiletries back in the cabinet
2- he does not know how to close drawers (seriously?!)
3- he takes off his work clothes and lays them on the bed. It creates a huge pile. Actually he doesn't know how to use clothing hangers. At least that's what I'm convinced of since he drapes clothes over every piece of furniture in our bedroom and never hangs anything up.
4- he leaves glasses everywhere.
5- he leaves his shoes at the bottom of the stairs (tripping hazard!)

I could go on and on....drives me nutso!

My husband is exactly the same way. He helps a lot around the house, but his method is to let things pile up and then do a lot at once, instead of picking up after himself as he goes. I am not super clean and tidy, so I really shouldn't complain, but sometimes it does drive me crazy when I feel like I'm constantly picking up after him - putting the wine opener back or throwing a wrapper away.

I am a neat freak and my husband is a mess. I feel like he does some of it on purpose to mess with me though. We don't normally allow food outside if the kitchen, so at least I don't find food remnants all over the apartment. But I do spend at least 20 minutes tidying up the apartment every morning after DH and DS are gone. I just can't be here all day with a mussed up place.

We are both guilty but DH is the worst!! The most annoying is when he pulls my perfectly-folded and draped blankets off our sofa, uses them and then leaves them in a messy heap on the floor or sofa. I'm not super tidy, but there are a few things like that the I'm anal about - bed making and laundry in the hamper are two others!

But he is also the tornado the second he walks in the house. Keys, clothes, wrappers, hats, dishes - where ever. It drive me nuts.

We are both guilty of this in different ways.
He is too lazy to hang up his suits, and loves to throw dirty laundry on the floor instead of in a hamper. He also loves putting trash (like boxes) on the floor NEXT to the trashcan instead of in it - drives. me. crazy!!!

I make much bigger messes in the kitchen or leave dishes in the living room. I can also blink and all of a sudden 4 pairs of my shoes have collected by the front door! :silly: I used to be much dirtier in the car, but have really worked on that since we got a new vehicle. I'm also better than DH at picking up all the baby stuff at the end of each day.
