I've never left negative feedback. But I would only do so, once I tried working with the vendor to fix whatever was wrong.

I've left neutral feedback on etsy to a very well regarded seller. But she misrepresented the item and it was slightly broken. She got really mad at me and harassed me to change the feedback. That just made me more upset.

@mediagirl: If I were a future purchaser, I would appreciate your feedback. It also gives the seller a chance to correct it going forward. I might not have used the word *cheap*, but I think you left a good mix of positive and negative feedback.

No. On eBay and Amazon, sure but on Etsy, never. Even when it's deserved, I feel too bad to leave negative feedback on Etsy, it just seems too personal to. That's kinda the reason why I'm more careful about buying from there.

It honestly takes a lot for me to leave negative feedback, so when I do it's very well deserved. I usually dont feel bad.

I only leave negative feedback if the seller refuses to compensate or help in any way if I am dissatisfied. If the seller tries to fix the situation to a reasonable extent, I leave positive feedback.

I think in your case I would have still left positive feedback (while still leaving a note about the trouble), because the seller did give the option to return the item and get my money back. To each their own though... what's the point of feedback if you can't say your opinion?

I think you were honest and that your feedback will be helpful to other buyers, and can help the seller improve! It sounds like constructive criticism. I hate leaving bad or neutral feedback too, but I have done it once or twice when I had a bad experience.

I don't feel bad, usually. I'd prefer someone be honest in their feedback, both as a buyer and a seller. I think how you did it was perfect, saying that there were some great things but also some major issues. If I were that seller I would appreciate that so I could improve my products/service. I'm more likely to consider something if the suggestion isn't totally bitchy, so I think you handled it well.

I bought a necklace from a seller on Etsy a couple of months ago. It took me until today to leave her feedback. I like this person - I follow her on Twitter, her blog and IG. I left neutral feedback but left details in my feedback about the things that were wrong:
-The charm was cheap
-I wore it once and the piece that attaches the charm to the necklace broke, rendering the necklace useless

I did add positive feedback stating the seller was willing to accept a return but she had a time limit on that and I couldn't get it out fast enough to meet the deadline. I also mentioned she made and shipped the item quickly.

I HATE leaving negative feedback and really didn't want to but I feel like people have a right to know what they're buying and the only way to know that is by reading seller feedback, right?

Have you left negative feedback before? How did you feel afterwards?
