Aw, poor thing! I remember vividly my sister getting her leg stuck in a crib when she was teeny. And since she is a twin, she AND her sister were hysterical! My dad slathered her up in butter and there were no lasting effects ;)

LO did that a lot and we got breathable bumpers until she would just put her leg above those. Now she puts her limbs in and out and rarely gets stuck. Just takes some learning on LO's part.

Side note equally sad and funny the first time you go in and LO has hands on the bars of the crib and looking through at you as if it's baby jail.

@Rubies: here's the link:

http://www.hellobee.com/2012/12/27/charlies-leg-got-stuck-in-a-crib/

charlie's leg got really stuck though in the side of the crib.

breathable bumpers helped us with the legs stuck issue, but the aap recommends against even breathable bumpers. we still used them for olive though.

My LO just did that for the first time this morning, and she was HYSTERICAL. luckily, no actual harm being done. She refused to go back to sleep though, and clung to me instead. Poor babies :(

Breathable bumpers help with arms getting stuck and sleep sacks helped with the feet.

She used to do it all the time. We had breathable bumpers and she would pull them down and still get caught. Sleep sacks helped.

My M used to do that to, we ended up putting up bumpers and have had no issues since... but I know that is a controversial issue :wink:

Oh no!! Sorry to hear that momma. :( H gets his leg stuck the same way for (I think) the same reason. At first I thought it was because of the bumpers but we removed those and I think he gets tangled worse now without them! Sometimes his poor thighs are bruised and it started around the same age as your LO.

Good news - after a while he sorta outgrew it. Now he'll dangle his feet out but he's more careful about his legs. Hang in there, it gets better!

M started screaming at 3am. I went into her dark room and attempted to pick her up but her leg was stuck. I pulled her crib out from the wall and she was able to wiggle it loose. There doesn't appear to be any harm done but she wanted to cuddle for the last hour and a half. :-(

Even though she's too long to do it now, she likes to sleep sideways in the crib.

Anyone else have their lo get their leg stuck in the crib?
