Expensive but worth it. My boys got them when they were 3 1/2 and the 1st day played with them for 4 hours straight! (It was a christmas gift I had saved for after christmas. I got the stomach flu one day and pulled them out. Life saver.) They enjoy all three but the duplo still get the most use. My boys are 5 1/2 and my daughter is 3. We have a couple duplo sets but the best investment was the duplo train. We got the deluxe set, my 1st train and the extra track pieces. He was able to follow the instructions by himself. Even though she says she likes the "small Legos", she doesn't play with them at all; she still plays with her Duplos. We have some of the juniors and some of the regular sets, and there isn't too much of a difference besides less pieces per item/vehicle, so they're still pretty small. That said, he is obsessed with them all lately and has asked for a few sets for Christmas. They are great for beginning Lego builders! My son got his first around 3.5 and could do most of it by himself.
