@sorrycharlie: Fun!!@MsLipGloss: That is awesome!!

Sadly, I have plenty of friends who were in the top of their class and are going on 2yrs without a job. Luckily, DH has a great job, and already finished his Masters. I have a heart condition that doesn't give me the luxury to wait until later in life to try, and not so sure I want to chance it if we want more than one!

@MrsBlue: I had only been with my firm for 7 months when I got my BFP, and I was still worried that it was too soon. During those 7 months, I was lucky enough to have scored some pretty significant victories, which I think made *me* feel better, although I am almost 100% positive that my partners would have been equally as awesome if it had happened sooner. :)

We made a New Years baby, but we made her in April. :)

I think its best too be at a job a little while before TTC. It makes maternity leave easier and puts you in a better place career wise.

I just started a 2-year clerkship the week I got my BFP. Before getting pg, I thought it wouldn't bother me because I'd be there at least 8 or 9 months before having the baby. Now, I'm TERRIFIED to tell my boss. It would have been easier to tell him if I had been here a few months so I knew him really well and he knew me and my work-product. In the end, he's super nice, and it will probably be fine, but it has caused a ton of stress during my first trimester, which is not fun! From my experience, I would recommend that you don't start TTC until you've been at a job for a month or two. If it takes a while to get pregnant waiting a couple months to start TTC won't be a big issue; but, if you get pregnant right away (month 2 for me), you'll be glad you had those extra couple months to build a rapport with your new boss.

I totally get the frustration of having to wait for what seems like forever, though. I really struggled with waiting when I knew that no time would be "perfect."

So, I just sent DH this text at work, and he goes- where did that come from? And I replied, just something I've been thinking about. I thought he'd be freaked out, but he immediately replied- Might as well forget about going on a cruise in August then b/c you'd be 8 1/2 months pregnant if we're successful. EEp! We talked about waiting a year after marriage, and got married in March. I've graduated law school, taken the bar (I hope I passed) and I'm applying for jobs now. I wanted to wait to get a job, then work for a year to hopefully get some mat leave, but then it's like who knows how long it'll be before I find a job! Hubby has a great job, and benefits kick in in two weeks. Just wanted to share. Any ideas? Thoughts? Anyone try to make a holiday baby?
