That would matter more (and still only very slightly) than the cost of an additional year of daycare. Dh and I were both the oldest in our grade growing up. You can't determine when a child will be ready to start school until its almost time for them to start. My original due date was 8/23. I was induced on 8/17 (for medical reasons) with LO being born on 8/18. Long before we ever discussed induction I told my doctor that I really didn't want to go into September as I didn't want my child to be the oldest in school. I have a co-worker that was induced last night, but in the past week she's really been debating whether to be induced so that she delivers before September 1st. If she delivers before Sept. 1, her daughter would be the youngest in her class, but she would also save money by having one less year of daycare/preschool. If she delivers after Sept. 1, her daughter would be the oldest in her class, but she'd have to pay for another year of preschool. So, what would you do?? </p>
