Are you aiming for a strict 12 months? DS hit a nursing strike after 10 months so I just switched him cold turkey to wcm. I was making less milk and didn't want to pump through it (plus it was taking longer because I was stressed and angry). So no new tips, just anecdotal permission to end half a month early, fwiw.

Try getting a letdown with hand expression before putting on the pump. I can usually get the milk cranking that way and then skip the 2 minute letdown cycle on the pump.

A will be 11 months tomorrow, so I'm getting close to stopping pumping. But the past week or so getting anything when I pump is become really difficult. I can sit there and pump for 20-30 minutes and have no let-down, which I wind up barely covering the bottom of the bottle. If I had enough of a stash in my freezer, I'd just stop pumping and use up my stash to get us through to a year, but I have like 8oz in my stash. As it is, my supply has dropped (even before the letting down issue), so I've been supplementing her bottles with hemp milk for the past 3 weeks (1oz hemp milk to 3oz BM). This week I'll probably start adding in WCM. But I need to keep pumping so that I can do the whole transition thing.

This morning I pumped for 25 minutes until she woke up and Hubs brought her downstairs to me - she nursed on one side while I pumped the other, and I FINALLY had a let-down within a minute of her latching. But I WOH fulltime, so I don't always have her with me to latch her on. And I can't sit there for an hour waiting for let-down so I can get more than a few drops!

I've tried looking at pictures of her, watching videos of her. I've tried putting everything away and just closing my eyes and trying to relax. Nothing. Any thoughts/tips on how to move things along more quickly?
