So - I am decided on the Plum Paper Regular Planner.

I am adding the fitness and meal planning sections. As well as a section for "Notes" in the back.

I am adding Monthly cleaning pages and to-do pages throughout the months.

Fingers crossed - I cant wait to get it! I used "PORRIDGE10" to get 10% off...just FYI

I can't get on with digital calendars as my life is not very computer based! I have an Erin Condren planner and I love it. I SAH and I use it to plan my whole day - tasks I have to get done, activities I will do with LO, places we need to go, appointments etc. I use the little lines at the bottom of each day for meal planning, and I also have a post it stuck to my ruler bookmark where I jot down any meal ideas for the following week.

It is very expensive (especially with shipping to the UK!), but I got mine as a gift so I didn't feel bad about it!

I have used electronic planners since college and I had palm pilots. However, when things get too crazy, I need to be able to see an entire week or month at a glance. This recently happened when my son started kindergarten and soccer and I felt overwhelmed. I went to target and bought a tiny little planner by Mead and ordered some erasable pens from amazon (not the cheesy ones.. they have new ones where the ink just rubs off with the "eraser", they are awesome!!) and it's been great. I use the year view to track me and my husband's time off; the month view for appointments, trips, visitors, etc; the week view for meal planning!

@Mrs D: I really think they are! They're big - but I like that. I've actually never got any extras from EC. It really comes with everything you need and I prefer my own pens/stickers etc. Other than the hourly layout (which they now have) I've never thought, 'I wish it had xyz...' The planner alone comes with a little ruler insert, a removable address/birthday book (so you can use the same one year after year if you want), stickers and blank stickers, a folder page, a plastic envelope, lots of blank space for notes.. I did order an extra holiday cover because I figured I could use it every year. If you are a first time buyer you can sign up for a $10 off coupon.

@Dr. Pepper: I really like the customizable nature of the pages. I think I will add meal planning (throughout), fitness (its own section), checklists throughout and cleaning throughout. As well as the household package - maybe.

Its looking like $50 - which is still cheaper than the Erin Condren one I love (rose gold - such a sucker for it!!!).

I much prefer a paper planner and have been using one for years. I too have fallen behind on self care and bought this planner for 2016 to help me with goals. I like the idea of committing to change and assessing goals every month.

I love my Erin condren planner! They are big, bit it still fits in my purse. While they aren't necessarily that different from a normal planner they're really cute. Plus I ill the way they're laid out.

I used an Erin condern this year for all my personal stuff, I rely on outlook calendar for work. It was nice to separate the two, however I don't know if I'll got with EC again this year! It was pretty pricey and hit and miss using it. I didn't use the daily as much as I used the monthly!

I love Erin Condren. I've been using one for 5 years I think! A paper planner is a must for me because it's more fun and I feel like I remember things more when I physically write them down. I leave mine open on my counter so I see it all the time and can check my reminders. I also order ridiculous stickers on amazon to decorate haha. This year they came out with the hourly weekly layout. I did that for my 2016 planner and I'm already loving it!

So -

Part of my initiative for 2016 is working on taking care of ME. As moms we do so much for everyone else and often overlook ourselves.

A part of having more energy to focus on ME is having a better handle on Organization in my life. So I am thinking of investing in a Day Planner.

I have been looking at Erin Condren and Plum Paper...thoughts reviews on these or others?

How have you found using a pencil and paper planner as opposed to electronic? I use electronic for work - but I think to help me disconnect from work (when I can) it would be helpful to have an entirely separate calendar for my life - not my work life.
