On the day I find out I'm pregnant, I'll start writing down thoughts for them. All through pregnancy, and their childhood, whenever I have something to say. A collection of letters from different times in their life. I'll give them their books when they are adults, or maybe teenagers. They recommended waiting for the 18th birthday, or even waiting until the child is about to be married. After I miscarried, it hurt to look at them. For this pregnancy, I've written two so far, the day we found out and the day we saw the heartbeat. I actually remember seeing a commercial (for computers.. or operating systems... or email?) that showed a father sending emails to an email account he set up for his daughter. It included photos, video and letters as she grew up and she'd be able to read them all one day. We actually need to write another one for the new year.</p> <p>I found it to be a wonderful experience. I just wrote about what I was feeling, how scared/worried/excited/happy I was to be pregnant, how much I loved DH and my hopes and dreams for LO. I hope that we can write a letter each year and when LO is all grown up hand them over - maybe when LO is getting married.
