My brother and I used to go on the Sunday before each "week long" break from school to borrow as many as we could to read throughout the break. (Our parents owned their own business and couldn't travel/vacation much).</p> <p>There was actually a petition to close down my hometown's library a few years ago. I love the library and could spend hours in there reading books. I wish people would respect the noise level in libraries, though. It seems like some parents think it's a gymboree or something. Anyways, we will definitely be taking our kids to the library! They have great kids programs they can get involved in and I think it's important to instill a love of books early. I love it because I can browse for a book on the catalog and if it isn't in my local library they will send it. I love the smell of the library too. That is sad that they might close it. We have been to the library many times with my daughter. Story time is great and they have toys she can play with so it's a place to hang out.
