I took diclegis until I was about 18 weeks. My daytime nausea was better at 15 weeks, but I still felt funky if I forgot to take the diclegis at night.

I stopped it by accident when I ran out of the meds. Luckily I felt fine that night so I decided not to refill. I have tons of Zofran left over so when I feel a wave of nausea on occasion I take that.

I took 1/2 unisom + b6 until 20 weeks. every week after 14 weeks I would try to stop and I'd get sick so I'd start again.

@Corduroy: I had the same problem. A reall y nice older nurse told me to stop pressuring myself and to take it as long as I needed it. I took it until almost 20 weeks. I would wait a week in between weaning attempts to eliminate unnecessary nausea. Try it, if it doesn't work, try again in a week. Good luck!

I'm still taking diclectin @23w, two pills in the late afternoons to combat my continuing evening sickness. I had a few spells of feeling great and thinking I could stop but continue to feel terrible at least a few times a week. Good weeks I get 2-3 days of feeling fine. Your body probably needs to adjust.

I tried to come off of it several times before 20 weeks and each time I threw up and was horribly nauseous all day long. At 20 weeks, all of the sudden, I started to feel better and tapered off of the unisom by 23 weeks. Hopefully, you just need some more time.

I had hyperemesis gravidarum so my experience is (hopefully) different but I wound up taking it until the end, just once a day before bed. I sort of suspect that my nausea and vomiting was exacerbated by stress and exhaustion so getting a good night sleep helped (which the unisom part helped). Can you maybe try a super calm bedtime ritual for yourself to see if you can get good sleep and see if that helps? Don't get me wrong, I think a big part of it is just that the medication helps keep the edge off for nausea but it might be worth trying if you think it's mostly gone.

Good luck! I hope you feel nausea free soon!

I'm 14.5 weeks and have been taking Unisom for morning sickness since week 7 or so. I tried to stop at week 10 for four days or so but I still had nausea. For the past week I've been tapering down to <1/4 pill and feeling pretty good. Then I tried not taking it again last night and I gagged at the breakfast table this morning.

How was your transition off Unisom? Did you have a few days of nausea as your body adjusted or did you feel 100% better?
