@Mrs D: Our daycare seemed skeptical about glass, too. I didn't really ask, just showed up on day one with them and forced the issue. But when they saw the Dr. Brown's bottles with the sleeves on, they seemed much less concerned. I can't comment on the lifefactory bottles, since we used Dr. Brown's, but I adore all of my lifefactory water bottles (I have 3 different sizes) - I bet the baby bottles are great, too!

Absolutely love them! We have (2) 4oz and (1) 9oz. Going to buy another 9oz one soon though. Super easy to clean...You can put every part into the dishwasher (Although I wash the nipples by hand) I have stage 1 and stage 2 nipples (the stage 2 came with the 9oz bottle) They also have sippy cup attachments that I will try once DD uses them all of the time! Shop around online, prices definitely vary by retailer. Highly recommend.

Ugh....Daycare said no glass. I think its crap. I am going to buy a LF bottle and take it in to show them its not some flimsy piece of glass that will easily shatter...

We started with them. Planned on exclusively breastfeeding, then had major BFing failure. Ended up trying to make the LF bottles work in the middle of the night, without much success.

Without Googling, I am wondering if they have different nipples? If so (or if you can use another nipple (like Dr. Brown's premie nipple)), I would recommend a super-low flow, which will mimic the breast.

I did love them for prepping formula in the early days (because we boiled it, and I liked glass vs. plastic for storage).

We ended up using Dr. Browns bottles, mostly, but if you can make LF work, I bet it's so much easier, especially since they have so many less parts.

@anniefannie: yeah definitely. I still think they're a great idea but was so soured after that I wouldn't risk it! Stupid freezer shelves. Now we have a fridge with a pull out freezer door which I think would be perfect.

Never tried them but I have thought about using glass before the babies came. You should definitely check out consignment sales. I was at one this weekend and I think I saw them. You could save some money buying them used.

@MenagerieMama: Thanks for the tip on pumping. I think I may still pump into medela ones - but I will keep this in mind!

@anniefannie: Ohhhh I hadnt thought about the interchangeable tops...great perk! Thanks for all the tips. Do you run yours through the dishwasher? Great idea on mason jars...I use them for everything as is - why not breastmilk!!!

@Mamaof2: Good call - will ask them now!!!

@anniefannie: I did that until the freezer shelf collapsed under the weight and I lost so much milk and had to clean up the broken glass. Not a happy day. So make sure your freezer is sturdy! I switched to bags after that. I'm still bitter about all that lost milk...

one more thing - I dont pump into them as they are heavy and uncomfortable for me. I pump into the medela bottles and store in a 16oz mason jar until I get home.

(ps - mason jars for frozen milk storage FTW.)

I use them for my 4 month old. The reason I decided they were worth the money is that you can attach different tops to them once you are no longer needing them as baby bottles. They have sippy caps, and regular seal caps as well. Also, every bottle has a silicone cover - the Born Free glass bottles dont have a cover for every bottle which seems silly.

My son goes to daycare and needs 3 bottles there, so we bought 6. Expensive, but a good investment in my sanity. As I work and I'm tired at night and a little lazy on occasion, I didnt want to have to worry about washing them immediately every single day. Now we have 2 sets to swap and always a few in the cabinet just in case. I plan on doing the same for the 9 oz bottles.

Also, I use the Dr. Browns nipples - waaaay better than the LifeFactory ones. Level P at first and now Level 1 (Im BFing and heard that the P's are closer to the nipple at first)

my only gripe is that I try to keep them upright when they are full. I've had them leak once or twice which kinda sucks. But the pros outweigh that con for me.

We have 2 of the 5 oz ones. I love them! They are my go to for daycare since they're so sturdy. The main downsides are: heavier so took more time for LO to hold them on her own, don't fit the medela flanges perfectly - I definitely pumped into them a lot so they work, you just need to be a little more careful because the thread isn't a snug fit. Otherwise all the pros I think are well worth it. That being said, they were so pricey and we didn't get any at our shower so I just had 2 and the rest were plain glass Evenflo bottles that were insanely cheap and really did work just as well!

Looking for reviews on Life Factory bottles?

I used Madela bottles with DD1 and had no issues with her but I hated how the bottles over time took on a soapy smell. I'd like to use glass bottles this time around.

Likes/dislikes? Also - as they are not cheap - what pieces did you invest in? How many of each size?!

TIA
