It is one factor that makes living overseas away from our families much more bearable. I knew we had a good situation when we had it, but it wasn't always easy dealing with some issues. I agree with the others in that I actually preferred it more when we let her go and just sent DD back to daycare again. </p> <p>DD "outgrew" her at 2.5 yo and needed the socialization and more structure anyway. So even if it was a lot more work for me (she was our housekeeper too!), it was better for DD at that time.</p> <p>But yeah, grandmas are different... My mom nannies for my niece though. There are pros and cons I think. With her here, I have 30 extra minutes in the morning. I don't have to pack a daycare bag or drop M at daycare.
