just want to say that it is REALLY hard to practice what i preach. So when i say "no more than 2 hour nap", it will sometimes turn into 2 hours and 15 minutes if he is sleeping that long. and i get so.much.done in those 15 minutes :)

in the past i would have done nothing. however, after letting LO sleep once for 3 hours in the morning, he then refused his afternoon nap that day and was an overtired monster by bedtime. Another time i let him sleep 3 hours in the afternoon - and he went bed to 1.5 hours later than usual! after much fighting, lol

So since those experiences, i am officially in the camp of not letting them nap more than 2 hours.

my sister also went to a baby sleep workshop and was told that if they need more sleep, they should make up for it by having an earlier bedtime that night, but long naps just messes them up - i now agree wholeheartedly!

DD has been sleeping for three hours and fifteen minutes so far this morning. Usually her morning nap is 1.5-2 max!

I've gone in so many times to check her breathing and she seems fine, no fever just sleeping soundly.

Normally if her afternoon nap runs long I'll wake her at 4:30 to not interrupt night sleep. I'm wondering now, how this doozy of a nap will affect her afternoon nap and therefore bedtime....

I'm kind of hoping that posting this will jinx me and I won't have to decide what to do.

What do you do with an abnormally long nap?
