I am pretty sure I read something about the mom using Tylenol while pregnant being linked with an increased risk of asthma. (http://www.webmd.com/asthma/news/20110330/acetaminophen-in-pregnancy-link-to-babys-asthma)

But even this article says it's not changing their recommendation of only take it if you really need it.

The fact that both of these came out last year, to me, says there is something to it (though it very well could be what @Mrs. Bee: says). I wouldn't let it keep me from bringing my babies fever down, or my own fever down while pregnant, but it would discourage me from taking it for a headache.

Never heard this one. I don't like to jump to medicine etiher but if my child has a high fever I'm not going to not give Tylenol because of this possible link.

yes i've heard this, but there's also research that suggests kids with asthma just get sick more often, thus requiring more tylenol. i think charlie may develop asthma (he's had several respiratory viruses), but i don't withhold tylenol based on these studies.

if his fever is over 101, I give him tylenol.

Have you heard that there may be a link between kids with asthma and the use of Tylenol?

I have heard from more than one parent that they believe the overuse of Tylenol may be the cause of their child getting asthma. Despite no family history.

It definitely raises a concern for me since we do have a history of asthma on both sides. So I would hate to do anything that might increase the likelihood of my LO having asthma.

http://www.npr.org/blogs/health/2012/02/20/147002356/does-tylenol-worsen-asthma-for-kids

For the record I am one of those that do not believe in taking medication. If I'm in pain my gut reaction is not to go to pills.
