I'd actually love for my LO to like tv. It would make life much easier for me when I have a migraine and need a little break. But at 10 months, she has no interest.

LO's never seen a baby einstein dvd. She watches about 5 minutes of her favorite cartoon on youtube every other day though. We try to keep the TV off while LO is awake.

Maybe you could try the CDs instead. DD loved them when she was younger and I played them for her every day.

I don't explicitly say it in the blog post, but baby Einstein has not been shown to be beneficial to baby learning and may even be harmful. (they had to take the educational claims off the box, even)

@Honeybee: honestly I dont know if it was the music that put her to sleep or the visual effects of the video.

Someone gave us a baby einstein DVD but we have not used it. DD is 13 months & has seen a couple very limited clips of TV, but we want to hold off as long as possible. We'd like to wait till 2, but if we can make it to 20 months (when baby #2 is due!) I'll be happy. At 20 months, we may introduce limited amounts/day

Do you think she feel asleep to the video or the music? I'm pretty sure you can buy the Baby Einstein music tracks on cd, so that might be something look into, if helps her fall asleep!

ETA: We didn't start letting DD watch movies/tv until recently, and we try to keep it limited right now. I don't want to start any bad habits, and the AAP doesn't recommend tv before the age 2.

not sure but our son is really interested in TV when we're watching it too! We try to distract him but end up having to turn it off if we don't want him watching it! Crazy how young they start.

I think I will let him watch the signing time videos around 5-6 months but other than that I don't think I'll let him watch TV until he's at least a year, if not two. but that's just my personal preference and I know a lot of moms let their babies watch the baby einsteins.

Did you use these dvds with your LO and at what age did you introduce it? my baby is 6 weeks and is very interested in the tv, I guess the lights attract her so today i went on youtube and let her watch a clip of the baby einstein lullaby and she fell asleep to it, and its usually very hard fir her ti fall asleep. I'm considering buying it but I'm worried she is too young for dvds
