We always do LL Bean rain coats for DD - she is on her third size. I love finding them used but would pay full price because I love them. They come in infant, toddler, and kids.

Uniqlo has some great light rain parkas or jackets that works for really hot weather.

We also have rain jackets from Hatley (from Amazon) that works well in the colder months and is super cute but there's no way my daughter can wear it in Hot'lanta's summer heat. It has a lining and anything with lining gets unbearably hot. Also, my daughter usually takes off her rain jacket in the car bc she doesn't want to get her carseat wet

We just got new raincoats from Macys, because they were cheap on sale. London Fog brand--I just checked though, and I can't find it on the site, so they might be gone. But we've used them twice this week and they were great. They aren't sportswear jackets though, so not sure what you are looking for--ours is kind of like a kids trench coat with a ruffle on the bottom--in Navy.

@lindseykaye: I've had good luck with Columbia rain jackets in all sizes. The main thing is a liner so the jacket doesn't shrink wrap to your arms, especially in short sleeves.

Kohl's has a sale right now on kids Columbia raincoats.

ETA: Didn't realize this one was a partial fleece liner, off to find a mesh lined one.

Get one that is light weight, the thick ones are no fun in the heat. We have one from north face and one from marmot. Both on sale from rei I think.

Anyone have recommendations on a little kid rain coat? We live in Florida and are in the thick of hot steamy rainy days. LO (girl, age 6, size 5) has asked for a rain coat but I’m not sure where to start.
I’d love it to actually keep her mostly dry - umbrellas are annoying and there’s an infant car seat to wrangle in the rain as well as get her around. But I’m worried about her getting too hot and sweaty.
Anyone have something that’s worked for you? Bonus if it’s less than $40 but I’m flexible if it’s good quality. Thanks!
