@blackbird: Ours can hold a ton... Like 3-4 days worth...and I still tend to change every 2 hours.

I have a diaper champ but I think that's more for disposables - you use a garbage bag inside it. It works really well for my baby's reeky soy formula poops tho. I probably empty it once a week, holds between 35-50 diapers. But again, that's disposables...

The step on trash can would be nice....I know we can use the cloth liners we have, at least.

How many diapers does the trash can you guys have hold?

I'll have to check, but there's a chance I can just pop out the inner compartment and use the Ubbi as a trash can type pail.

We use a simple human step on trash can with self closing kid and a planet wise liner. We got a brown one so it matches the room. Love! We ended up getting the same trash can for the kitchen because we love it so much. The best part is we can lock it if we need to and our dogs can't get in (which they don't really try do anyway, but they are small and a smaller can might make that more appealing to them).

We use a cheap Hefty step can from Target and two Wahmies pail liners. We do was every other day, just because that's what I prefer. LO is 14 months old, and we don't have a problem with smell. The Wahmies liners have a little cotton tab on which you can drop some Tea Tree Oil to help with the smell.

We have a cheapo diaper pail that works great. DH just bought the cheapest one he could find at babies r us. Maybe if you switched to something like that you could at least still use the pail liners.

I have an Ubbi diaper pail and so far, I've been happy with it...until we moved to Sustainablebabyish diapers at night and E started daycare. I don't want to or need to do cloth diaper laundry every two days, but now I find the diaper pail gets full too fast. I couldn't close the damn thing this morning and I just did laundry on Sunday! The sustainablebabyish diapers are too big to fit easily into the hole, so I end up unsnapping the liner and having to stuff it into the pail and end up touching way more pee than I really care to. And with poop diapers (we use freetimes), I roll them up and sometimes the poop gets on the entrance to the hole and then I have to clean up the diaper pail. Seems redundant. Basically, i'm not sure it's a great option for us anymore. Which makes me mad because between the pail and the two washable liners, it wasn't a cheap investment.

Should I move to a very large hanging wet bag? What do you use? Love/hate it? Are there smell issues if you have a baby that eats solid food?
