We have a toilet seat linked above and it's great. I like that it is right there and there is nothing extra to clean.

@BeachMama:
We had both. We started with a tiny potty, and then graduated to the seat. Now, at 3.5 she doesn't use either of them.

The tiny potty was nice because there was no issue or worry with getting on it. She could be self sufficient pretty quickly. It can also go all around the house! (my neighbor use to keep hers in the playroom so that her daughter could just go right there and didn't have to worry about remembering to stop what she was playing with and still have time to make it to the bathroom!) It was nice to have as well, because when we did the get the toilet seat, the tiny potty went upstairs in DD's bathroom and she could go potty up there as well. We bought a cheap one from Target, but when DS is ready I would like to get the Baby Bjorn one. It is much easier to dump out then the one we got. (when you go looking at tiny potties really think about what it will be like to dump the thing out when it is full.... make sure the lip part is big enough you won't have to touch too much! that's why I like the Baby Bjorn potty)

The potty seat attachment was nice, because it is more real life. She got use to the idea and sound of flushing (which will happen when we are in public) and getting on and off the big potty. It was a little annoying because she need a stool infront of the toilet, which stunk when I had to go, but we all got use to it. We got something similar to this, but I can tell you that the tiny seat broke off after only 6 months of use (she's big enough now she doesn't need it though!)

Best of luck to you!!!

We have both. DS is 23 mos and has been sitting on the potty for a year but I wouldn't call him potty trained yet. He does wear underwear at home. Anyway we have a Baby Bjorn potty seat, I was hoping this would help him go into the bathroom by himself but he doesn't really do that yet. It does help keep us from having to lift him onto the toilet because he is big for his age, very useful for my lifting restriction when I had a C section. The seat that sits on the potty is nice because you don't have to clean out the bowl, we got these once he started pooping in the toilet because cleaning out the bowl is gross. We just have Arm & Hammer seats that were $10 on amazon. A lot of kids have no problem sitting on the big toilet with support, but my DS does not like to do that.

We bought this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00CSAWJQ8
It's a FP Learn to Flush potty, we never used the potty part, only the seat ring. Total waste of money for us, but that's ok she loved to flush and hear the songs ;)

@autumnlove: we got this potty chair from a close friend...and I had no idea it cost this much....but it sings when the container gets filled. I would never buy a potty seat for that much but our close friend barely used it for her little girl and offered it so I accepted it. We also have one that sits on the big potty and I got a portable potty for taking with me out and about (I like that it's foldable and fits in my diaper bag and you can fold it out to be a potty chair or use it on the big potty)...you can use a reusable container or plastic bags to dispose

We have both. We originally got the seat attachment but even though she can get herself up on the toilet, she does it kind of awkwardly and sometimes still needs help. I think she needs to be just a little bit taller to get up there by herself so we bought the little potty, too. Now to potty train her!

We potty trained at 24 months and she primarily uses the little potty. We did the 3 day potty method and it was super important that she could walk up to the potty and just sit and use the potty herself....and during potty training it was super important that the potty be in close proximity to the play room.

She has no problem using the big potty in public (we have a portable potty seat we set on top) and also uses the big potty before nap and bedtime. I think we'll transition to a big potty full time when she's closer to 2.5 with longer legs and we're able to find a step stool where her feet can reach (important for poos in the potty)

Which do you have? What are pros and cons of either?

DD is starting to tell us when she's pooped so I want to start introducing the potty to her. Just not sure which kind to get.
