I thought she would be over the moon, but instead it totally backfired - she freaked out and got the worst stage fright at seeing at her "idol" in person and pretty much spent her entire party crying and hiding. It was so sad!! The other kids were super excited though :( I was pretty bummed because it was expensive as hell, and her reaction wasn't quite what I expected. M can be pretty shy/skittish too and had a bad reaction when meeting a Minnie this summer. But then we took her to Sesame Place a week later and by the third character she was telling us "by myself" and would go up to them and hug them. I think by age 4 you can try and prep her for the big meeting so that she doesn't freak out, and make sure she observes other kids meet/take pics with DT before it is her turn. </p> <p>We see large characters very often though as we go to Disneyland every couple weeks. DD was terrified and then magically one day when she was about 2-2.5, she started wanting to meet them all.
