For her second we took her to the zoo on her birthday. Then invited my ILs and BIL over for dinner and cake. It was simple but great to spend the day just as a family. They provide everything and it seems so easy and low-stress. We went to a 2nd bday party there about a month ago and LO had a blast. Our house is big enough to have one here, but I feel like the kids would get bored. And I threw my DD a huge party for her first, too. For her second, we had people over and put a huge tent on the patio in our backyard. It was a drizzly day, but people sat outisde under the tent anyway and the other half of the people hung out inside. We did a taco bar (party was at 5 or so), had cake, and opened gifts.
