LO will poke her head around the steps and yell her version of my name. </p> <p>@NYCaliMama: When we were packing and moving I think it happened a lot that people would yell my name up the steps and I'd poke my head down to see what they needed. She used to just do it to yell up the steps but now she'll walk around calling for me. They didn't make a big deal out of it because it didn't bother them, but to this day (20 some odd yrs later) he still calls them by their first names. it's probably because my parents didn't stop him from doing it.</p> <p>If it bothers you, maybe try to have other your family refer to you as mama when talking to LO. I'd also either ignore LO when she calls you by your first name (they like reactions, if you are laughing or saying mama mama mama every time she calls you by your first name it becomes a game) and only answer when she calls mama or with as little emotion as possible offer the correct name.
