My daughter loves to be with Daddy. I always say she 'imprinted' on him when she was born since he was with her eyeing him up, before I got my senses together. He spends time with her while I'm at work 4 days a week and usually gives her most of her baths and feedings. EVEN SHE rejected him (she just turned 1) when she wasn't feeling well and didn't go to him for 3 days. I could barely pee alone without hearing her screaming cry for me. She gets like that occasionally in the morning when she's tired too. But most of the time it's happened when she's sick. I think a lot of babies only want their Mama then. (She doesn't have a problem with teething but maybe it's that for your LO.)

Our daughter has preferred me all the way along! She still cries whenever I leave the room, and if I'm around she wants me to hold her no matter what. I feel like Cam from Modern Family spoiling our girl!

My daughter is three and she still prefers me because I am around more and I agree, it is heartbreaking to watch. Though she is fine playing with him and all that but as a general rule, if my husband tries to put her down for bed she won't let him and demands I put her down instead. But then again he is only home on the weekends and it is a big change in her routine. It still makes me sad :(

Just this week, my 17-month-old son is FREAKING out whenever my husband picks him up or tries to play with him. He screams bloody murder and cries real tears and runs to me asking to be picked up. Sometimes he will calm down and allow his dad to play with him, feed him, bathe him, etc., but it takes a LOT of mind games. Tonight he was Mr. Hyde all evening no matter what his dad did...it was so sad. I know they go through these phases and my husband is a pediatrician so I know he logically knows that too, but it's still pretty heartbreaking for him. My husband works crazy hours so he's not around nearly as much as I am but he is usually the one who gives LO his bath and bedtime routine.

Anyone else's LO go through such a strong Daddy aversion? How long did it last? ?? I do think he is teething with molars so maybe he just doesn't feel very good and wants his mama only?
