@Rubies: the straw is 2 parts, one part is outside the cup and is soft (sort of like an airhose from a fishtank), the other part is inside and is harder than a regular straw. The soft part actually includes the no-spill valve. They are pretty easy to put together and even with DD chewing on it, the outer straw looks like new. We use at least one every day so yes we like them.

@purrpletulips: Is the Munchkin one a full-on straw? Like, the way an adult would use? I've seen that cup around and was wondering about it...Do you like it?

My niece will only use a straw, still some spillage but nothing like a whole glass down the front of the shirt.

We use these straw cups and they don't require the bite and suck strategy http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Mighty-Straw-2-Pack-Colors/dp/B001QXCF0S/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1340821629&sr=8-4&keywords=toddler+straw+cups.

We also found these which are nice but not totally spill-proof http://www.amazon.com/Philips-AVENT-Natural-Drinking-Green/dp/B006GYLL8Y/ref=sr_1_1?s=baby-products&ie=UTF8&qid=1340821678&sr=1-1&keywords=avent+cups

@Maysprout: I started using the kind where you have to bite down and it took ME a few tries to figure it out! I just handed it to LO and eventually she worked it out on her own. As for the Zo-Li cup (or any other baby straw cup that I've seen), they are all requiring some sort of bite-down-then-suck ability - some easier than others. The Zo-Li is the same in that LO has to purse her lips over the straw and then suck.

@MamaMoose: @Rubies:
We have a straw cup but I think maybe we have a bad kind.

The one we have I think she has to bite a little and then suck and she doesn't seem to be able to get anything out.

Did you have to teach your LO to use a straw or did they just get it

But she's not talented enough to drink out of a regular cup without dumping it on herself.

Anyone have a some magic cup that toddlers like?
