@MrsTiz: I think J is only a few weeks younger than S right? Late naps have recently started to become a problem for us....she used to be able to nap until 5-5.30 and still go down at 7, but not anymore! She needs at least 3hrs of awake time before bed, so I have to make sure she is awake by 4. Also re. the fussiness, we have just gone through the 6th wonder week, which was almost 2 weeks of extreme fussy/whiny behaviour. Teeth don't seem to bother her, but the WW's do!

@edelweiss: it's about 50/50, some days he does 2 naps and some days he does 3. Today he napped at 9 for about 45 min and then he napped at around 12:45 for a half hour or so. He fell asleep on the way home at 4 which he rarely does and slept til 4;30. Usually if he does that, he will still go to sleep at 5:30.. Not today! He's still up at 7:30. I really hope he doesn't try and give up a nap or try and move it til after work. Nap time is soo important for me at work right now.

huh--babies and sleep! boggles my mind all the time. i was wondering if anything in your LO's nap schedule was changing, like whether your LO was showing signs of being ready to drop a nap?

Umm... we're going through the same thing! He wants to be up til 8:30 or 9:00. We try to put him down around 7:30 and it hasn't been working. He screams and cries in his crib until I go in and turn his light on and then he's all smiles, and wants to play!

I feel like the lighter evenings have something to do with it!

@MrsTiz: A was the same way! We didn't even know he was teething for his two bottom teeth until they showed up! :P But then his four top teeth came in all at once and for a week straight it was hard for naps (1 to no nap even tho he was on a 2 nap schedule) and several wakeups at nighttime! hope he's back to normal asap!!

@mrsjyw: I'm not sure, when he got his first two teeth nothing changed but the drool and chewing on stuff. He was a little fussy, but not like this. This past week has been miserable.. Crying, whining, throwing himself around in a tantrum and getting much less sleep at night. He's been awful. He's getting ready to crawl or maybe teething, idk. Blah

With the days longer, we've noticed the kids pushing bedtime back by about half an hour to an hour later than we normally do in the fall/winter. I think it's normal given his age and the time of year. As unhelpful as that might sound :/

Is he teething? The only time DS has strayed from his bedtime is when he was cutting a ton of teeth... otherwise, the bedtime gap either way has never been more than 30 min

LO has been going to bed at 5:15-5:30 for a few months now. It really works for us as far as evenings and waking up for work.

This weekend he decided to take a 30 minute nap at bedtime and then stay up until around 8. He did it Friday first and then has done it every night since, minus the nap. It's 6 now and no sign of sleepiness in sight. Friday he was happy as a clam until bed, the rest of the nights...not so much. He's still waking up at 5:30am so he's actually getting less sleep.

I don't know if that's the reason he's been so cranky all day this weekend and today or not but something's gotta give!

So what did a later bed time look like at your house? Is it normal to just start going to bed almost 3 hours later out of nowhere!?
