@paigeface: does he go to bed with someone in there easier? This sounds like my daycare kid. Excellent napper (2-3 hours a day). Takes a long time to fall asleep at night and often wakes up and dad has to go in there and sleep in the room or co sleep in a bed with him. He is getting better over the past month though. There were some sicknesses and teeth coming in during. He would cry and scream and throw things if his parents left the room but would be quiet and just take a long time to fall asleep with them in there. My only advice is keep attempting solo falling asleep or falling asleep with minimal interventions and make sure nap time doesn't end too late. Pain relief for possible teething is a good suggestion to try. This child is 18 months old.

My 18 month old went through two weeks of night wakings recently and I had to lie on her floor. I would go in and diaper change and try milk or a pouch in case she was hungry. I also have Tylenol a few times because I knew she was working on some teeth as well. It was a weird and crappy time. Maintain your routine as much as possible and try to limit interventions as well for sleep, but obviously you need to survive and everyone needs to sleep!

It's been a week? I wonder if an illness is coming on or teething. Might try a dose of motrin and see if that helps. If it does, maybe he's been in pain.

There IS a regression at this point (like an 18 month regression) that I think is tied to speech and its possible he's getting his 2 year molars? They are a beast and they will teeth on and off for a few weeks at a time, with the worst of it being when they finally cut through partially, but not all the way. 2 year molars took forever with my 2.5 year old and he got them ONE AT A TIME so it dragged out forever. It created lots of nightwakings, being cranky, etc.

If you read my last post we had moved to a new condo and our LO (20 months) was having a hard time adjusting. After a week he got used to it and we got him into a good routine (dinner, bath, book, bed.) He was going right down and sleeping all through the night again. All the sudden since last week we have hit a wall. We do the same routine every night and nothing has changed but now he will throw everything out of his crib and scream for us to come back in. I've tried letting him CIO but he's persistent and will just keep screaming. This goes on until 10:00pm when he finally passes out. Throughout the night he keeps waking a few times as well. I seriously feel like I'm at my wits end and can barely keep my head up at work. To make matters worse he is super crabby during the day because he isn't getting good sleep and it's a big problem because he comes to work with me (I work at my family's business.) His naptime is still ok and he's still sleeping 1.5 - 2 hours. Does anyone have any advice, tips, stories to help with this?
