@Corduroy: Do you use a humidifier? I was coughing when we didn't have one yet and baby was having dryness & a stuffy nose constantly. Now everything is better.

The Vicks is on the feet. Any other tips to stop the coughing once it starts?

@locavore_mama: Yes, we did that for a week or so. I guess I stopped doing it when her cough improved during the day. I was a little overwhelmed with our bedtime ointment routine for a while: pink eye drops, diaper rash cream, hydrocortisone on the foot creases, and vicks on the feet & back. We had a lot going on. Thankfully, all those other things have cleared up now. Thanks for the reminder. I'll start doing it again.

@Corduroy: have you tried vicks on her feet then socks? That usually does the trick for my LO to keep her sleeping.

My 6 month old has had a cough almost continuously since she started daycare two months ago. For the last two weeks or so the cough has woken her up 3x a night. Previously she had only been waking up once to nurse.

When she wakes herself up coughing she doesn't settle back down to sleep. The only thing I've found that quiets her cough & gets her back to sleep is nursing. Before I started nursing her back to sleep she was coughing until she vomited.

Mama needs to get back on track with sleep. Our nights are way too short for 3 wake ups.

Anyone have tips on easing LO back towards sleeping through the night when they have a cough? I think I should stop offering the boob during middle of the night cough wakeups but how do you stop the coughing without the boob?

(FWIW - she has seen the doctor for a well baby check up and we have a timeline to check in with the doctor for further assessment if the cough doesn't significantly improve)
