She lived in another country so it took 1.5 years but he finally met her in March. He passed away a couple years before LO was born. DD1 has seen her several times and I hope to take DD2 out to see her soon.</p> <p>My grandpa (mom's dad) is still alive but he is the worst so he hasn't met my kids and never will. He remarried after he left my grandma and I have never met his wife.</p> <p>My dad's aunt has always been sort of a bonus grandparent for me. My dad lived with her for over a year as a kid when my grandmother was ill so they have always been very close. Now he just has step great grandparents (my mom's DH's mom &amp; dad). She had Alzheimer's but liked seeing him so I'm glad they had time together. DD had a great-great grandfather still alive when she was born, but he passed away last year. </p>
