Any way you can try to nap her early or ask them to save the pictures with her for last so she can get a little nap in? That's a long day for a tired toddler.

@MamaMoose: That's a great suggestion, thank you. So cute that your LO was waving to people she knew! :)

@sweet_p: yes I definitely recommend the one parent in the back of the church and one in the front approach. My LO was the flower girl in my SIL's wedding this weekend. In our case, LO did great and didn't even need me to point out that daddy was at the front. She just took off down that aisle waving to people she knew! But I did ask the bride to make one adjustment. Traditionally the flower girl goes right before the bride... AFTER all the bridesmaids have gone. I was nervous LO would have a meltdown if she had to stay in the back as I walked away from her. So we switched things up and had the flower girl and ring bearers go after the parents but before the bridesmaids. I would suggest that approach for the next wedding she's in!

@MamaMoose: No, I'm not. LO is another wedding next March and I'm a bridesmaid for that one.
@Rainbow Sprinkles: Thank you!
@Arden: Aw, it sounds like she did great! DH and I were planning to do the same thing and have one person stay with her in the back and the other in the front to take pictures and coax her down the aisle.

Vi was a flower girl yesterday. I sat in the second row and DH stayed in the back, and then I stood up for a second so she saw me just before he set her down and she beelined down the aisle for me. :) She didn't throw her flowers but she's 1, so...
Once she got to me she threw the basket on the ground and climbed into my lap. :)

Once she got to the front I gave her a container of puffs to keep her entertained. She slept in the wrap for the whole reception.

LO is 2.5 and making her flower girl debut this weekend at our friend's wedding. It's out of town and we will be there from Friday through Sunday. I'm a little nervous because LO is a very sensitive sleeper and typically doesn't do well when we are away from home. On Saturday, which is the actual day of the wedding, she will most likely have to skip her nap since they will need her for pictures in the afternoon before the ceremony starts.

It's going to be a long day, so if anyone has any tips or suggestions on how we can make it a little easier on her, I would really appreciate it! I did buy her a new coloring book, crayons, stickers and downloaded new apps on the iPad so we can keep her occupied during the reception if she starts to get bored.

Keeping my fingers crossed that she doesn't shriek and fling her flowers on the ground as she's walking down the aisle... :happy:
