DS did this on his own when he was a newborn. He eventually stopped sleeping on his side after awhile.

The twins have slept on their bellies almost since the first week. They were in our room with us in their bassinets starting at 6 weeks. I let go of the fear when I knew it would be the only way to get some sleep. My son also had to have his head touching the top of the bassinet or he wouldn't sleep. At about 6 months they outgrew the basinets and made their way back to our bed:pillows and all. Some kids are just like that. But, if you are going to be up all night worrying and still not sleeping it may not be worth it. I say do whatever you have to do get the most sleep for everyone in your family, not just the baby.

We did it. In fact, our pedi and nurses showed us how to roll the blankets! She was so spitty we actually thought it was safer that way.

We did that. What I did was make a blanket sausage, I tied it up with string and cut the ends very close to the knot so the blanket wouldn't unroll.

LO used to roll on her side all the time. Around 3 weeks, I actually laid her down on her side for naps sometimes so she'd sleep. Since she started sleeping in her own room around 5.5 months, she's always slept on her stomach so I guess she just didn't like her back (I think it has to do with her mild reflux). I say leave him.

We did a little bit of co-bedding (the last few hours of the night) up until LO was about 3.5 months and she almost always slept on her side for that chunk of sleep I worried at first but definitely got over it--sleep is KEY.

I did it. I don't know if that makes you feel better at all! hehe.

my LO was never a back sleeper. even now at 14 months he will only tolerate being on his back if he's super sick.

I have been up with my 1 week old literally all night. (It's 430am here.) She has been waking back up every time I put her down no matter what I do. My mom told me to roll up blankets & position on her side in the crib so she doesn't roll on her belly. Out of desperation I tried it and she is finally sound asleep. I was thinking I'd roll her to her back in a bit... But I am terrified she'll wake up. Please tell me I'm not negligent for letting her sleep like that? We are in the same room, which reduces SIDS risk.
