Thanks for the support - I'm glad it's fairly normal! Also DS took an hour nap & then a 2 hour nap! Hurray for small victories - I no longer feel like a dragon lady who will eat your face for looking at me wrong. :)

No answers for you but lots of sympathy! My LO is 5 months next week and has gone through phases of sleeping badly. The past three weeks he's spacing out his feeds during the day but then eats more often at night than during the day! Drives me crazy, as far as I'm concerened he could et every hour during the day if he slept at night.

Hang in there, all babies go through these stages and it will get better, just take one day and one week at the time.

In other news, I've suddenly started to go crazy!

DS is 9 weeks. Right before Thanksgiving he started waking more often at night. He HAD been sleeping a 4-5 hour stretch, then 2-3 hour stretches till morning. Now he sleeps a 3 hour stretch, a 2 hour stretch, then is awake 1-2 hours (not fussy, just awake), then sleeps VERY restlessly, waking every hour. He's also stopped napping, going from 3-4 hour plus naps to 4-5 20-30 min naps.

What is going on?! I thought maybe a Wonder Week, but it's been almost 2 weeks. He also got his 2 month vaccinations, but had no fever. His nights didn't get really bad until about 3 days later.

Some other things: he is getting worse at nursing. He was excellent, now he pulls off after every suck & fusses to get back on.
: I tried eliminating dairy around a month ago because of spitting up - it made no difference. I've been having small amounts of dairy with him sleeping fine for a few weeks before this started.
: He's always been kinda grunty & kicky around 2 to 5 am, but stayed asleep or would fall back asleep after nursing. Now he starts grunting & violently kicking around 12, he won't settle until he's fully awake & then he's happy - smiles all around!
: on Friday I started trying to put him down for naps so he can get used to not being held when daycare starts in jan.

I know this is crazy long, but does anyone know what's going on?! Or what I can do? Is this a normal thing to alter sleep so drastically for the worse? I went from around 7 hours sleep in good stretches plus an afternoon nap to around 4 hours sleep in 30-60 min stretches. DH leaves on a business trip until Wed & I am terrified!
