@artbee: I figured if he could develop something that it would be marketable! With all the other cool things that they engineer/build, I wouldn't think the robotic arm would be much of a challenge!

@MsMini: that would be awesome! 8 months of always having to keep lo moving for naps has not been fun.

My DH is a computer engineer, and at his work they build all kinds of helicopters/planes etc. He figures he could design and build a robotic arm that would rock an object pretty easily and quickly, however the motor assembly would be expensive. We'll see if desperation kicks in and he actually decided to try doing it once our LO arrives.

@artbee: i am guessing that would be hugely expensive but the wheels are cheap/do-able!

@Andrea: that's such a good idea. Even better, they should make them so you just push a button and it rocks itself.

Haha awesome! It would be great if they made rocking cribs. Well, I guess they do. They have cribs on wheels at daycare and they rock them that way. That is a good idea for home use, too!

Lo is getting too big for her swing, so my husband decided to try out the crib. She cried of course, bit he picked her up, rocked and shushed her, and then gave her a bottle and put her back in. No fuss and she fell asleep! Hope it wasn't just a fluke....
