I know a number of babies who have had to wear them, but the amount of time varied. None of them were bothered by them. You did not do anything wrong! I felt the same way at first though. Now I feel bad didn't do more (I could have pushed the issue) for her to get one but thankfully her hair is growing in and it won't really matter. (I hope..I apparently have one too and didn't realize it.)</p> <p>From what I've been toldthe younger they are the easier they get used to it and the quicker the process. He got it when he was about 6 months old, and at 13 months he is still wearing one. No real end date in sight but it doesn't seem to bother him. We did the physical therapy and the repositioning but to no avail.<br /> LO was about 7 months when we started and 11 when it ended. We've been referred by our pediatrician and our PT for a helmet. I feel so bad, like I did something wrong even though logical tells me it was out of my control.</p> <p>If your LO needed a helmet, how long did they have to wear it? </p>
