@blackbird: just a phase! We just went thru this and it took a few weeks to adjust. Now after a few weeks of sleeping on the floor, he stays In bed where it's more comfy. I do leave blankets on the floor he can snuggle with if he does get out but he's pretty much stopped getting out at night. Naps are a bit trickier...

My DD (3) does this sometimes. She calls it a camp out. I would think it'd be uncomfy but whatever! We just lay her blankets on the floor and she sleeps on them tucked in. Glad to see it isn't only her!

He's in the floor again. This is so odd. You'd think it would be uncomfortable

@twist.: right totally weird. I just watched DS on the monitor roll on the floor and push his pillow away and lay his face on the floor

My brother used to climb out of bed, pile all his plastic toys and stuffed animals into a nest in the closet and sleep on top of it. I have no idea how it was comfortable! He was about 3 when he did it and eventually outgrew it.

@blackbird: My son is similar, he insists that he has his pets with him, so we agreed on a solution where we put them on a pillow on the floor, with a separate, special blanket.

I would love for them to be in a bin, but I am willing to loose this battle to win the war, lol.

We aren't quite there yet, but I see this in my near future.

ETA: One of my friends two girls who are 3 & 5 still do this from time to time. It's totally bizarro. I don't remember doing this as a child. hahaha

Maybe you can get her a bigger bed with bed rails? Then she can put all of her lovies in bed with her and have enough room to move around? My oldest was lucky we had two queen beds so he moved into a queen bed at 3 years old.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: moving the animals is not an option lol. Every night I try to put them in the bin and she insists they go in bed with her. Or she gets them out herself. Hell, sometimes she lays on them, like a giant bed of bears :silly: sometimes she wakes up crabby but....hard to tell if it's because she got a bad night sleep and why

There were times as a kid I would sleep in the bathtub. Unless she's waking up sore I wouldn't worry too much.

If her bed is crowded perhaps finding another place for the stuffed animals may work. Even rearranging the bed so she has room to hang out on both sides may give her the extra freedom to move in her sleep.

@blackbird: My DS did this as well - sometimes I even found him in the hallway sleeping with is blankets and pillows (on hardwood floors) - I use to move him and then gave up. After a few weeks he stopped and started staying in his bed.
I wouldn't worry about it

@looch: that's what I was wondering, but it's SUCH a hassle to break it down just to potentially put it back. Maybe if she didn't sleep with a billion stuffed animals, she would have room to sleep :silly:

Is it possible that she's feeling too contained in the toddler bed?

I honestly don't know if it's worth it to do anything about it though, you could put the mattress on the floor, but then you'd have to go and move the bed, that's a huge PITA.

My LO has a floor bed but she does that too. We switched to the floor bed from the crib about four months ago. She spends about one week out of a month on the floor. We don't fight it.

We moved E to a toddler bed two weeks ago. Every night before I go to bed, I check on her. Almost every night, she's asleep on the floor with all her stuff. Like she's passing out mid play. But also ends up out of bed in the middle of the night.

Is this a phase? Will moving her to a floor bed help? I'm guessing no. I find it so unsettling that she removes everything and sleeps on the hard floor
