@BlueWolverine: That's great news!

We had to temporarily work with a new nanny when DD was 14 months old. It was a rough transition (took about 2 weeks), but DD was very happy once she got used to the new person/space/routine.

@Smurfette: Yes, I've unfortunately heard that. Day One is all about observing the new stuff and Day Two is being angry to be back. I hope for both of us it goes better than that!

Just called - LO took and hour and 40 min nap (normal for her) and is eating her snack. Feel much better.

Right there with you.../DD is 2 and having her first day at a new daycare today too. We loved her old place but this one is more convenient and cheaper. She did well at drop off thankfully. I don't think I want to call and check in because, really, it's not like I can leave work and pick her up anyway so if I hear she's not doing well it's just gonna make me more stressed today.

@Smurfette: Always good to know there are mamas in the same boat! So great that R is doing well.

@mediagirl: Will definitely be leaving early to get her! Yes, it's supposed to be the first few days that are the hardest...will remind myself that.

Hugs!!! When we moved our daughter (then 13 months) to the 1's room, it was tough. We're moving her to a new center in two weeks. I think the first week is bad and then they get used to it. That's what I'm telling myself at least... I hope you can sneak out a little early to pick up your little bug and give her lots of snuggles tonight!

I haven't been through this, but I'm sure the first day is the hardest! Give her time to adjust and I'm sure she'll love the new place too once she warms up to the people.

@BlueWolverine: R started a new one today as well. I dropped her off with the teacher that covers till 8 and I left she was crying. But I emailed the director and she said that she cried for less then a min and then transferred to her regular teacher no issues. She said that she walked by the classroom numerous times and she looked happy. I am nervous to see if she ate (she didn't want breakfast at home, think she is teething) and napped.
I am sure your LO is going to adjust and drop off will be better.
I can't wait to go get R too. I want to hug her cause I know today rocked her world and she misses her old teacher.

LO is 14 months and we started her at a new day care today. I loved her teachers at old day care, but new day is right next to my job AND it has a fantastic reputation. I put her on the waitlist when I was 6 weeks preg, and we just got in. I also like the baby room a lot better than old day care.

That said, I'm struggling today. She freaked out when DH dropped her off this morning (he always does drop off and we figured it would be easiest on her to continue the routine) and when I called, they told me she wouldn't eat lunch. Only milk and crackers. I'm fighting every urge to go scoop her up and take her back to old day care where she loves her teacher and her teacher loves her. Going to call in a few minutes to see if she napped.

Anyone switch around this age? How did it go?
