@avivoca: growth spurt is definitely a possibility.

@Applesandbananas: I hope this doesn't last long either!

She ate just fine this morning and was falling asleep at the breast, so she was definitely relaxed. She had a full feed, and was happy as a clam. So random! That's why I'm so confused as to why sometimes she flips out and others she is perfectly fine.

ds was super fussy during the 4 month sleep regression. He refused to nurse half the time, batted away bottles, refused to let anyone but me hold him.

Thankfully it only lasted a week.

She could be in a growth spurt. My LO acts like that during groth spurts and she's telling my body to make more milk.

@MamaBehr: From what I can tell, she isn't close to rolling over. She's been talking a ton and all she wants to do is put her hands or her feet in her mouth.

Sleep has gotten worse. She only sleeps 3 hours at a time. Her naps are shorter during the day too. The suit works in the sense that it keeps her from flailing. I don't think she's ready for a sleep sack yet. She keeps lifting her feet in the suit and rolling to her side because she's trying to get her feet in her mouth, lol.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: for what it's worth E has accomplished some major mile stones this weekend (rolling back to front and he has seemed to have found his voice) so I'm hoping that was his deal. His sleep is getting a little better. Hoes your DD's sleep? Is the suit working?

@MrsKoala: My DH usually well take her outside and walk her around to get her to calm down if he's home when she starts up. She definitely responds better to DH than me when she gets like this. Usually after she's been calm for a little bit, I can get her to eat.

@MamaBehr: I'm so sorry we're both dealing with this! It's so incredibly frustrating.

@PixieStix: I'm wondering if it's reflux too, but she doesn't do it every time she eats, she doesn't spit up a whole lot (I don't think) and she doesn't mind being on her back. So I don't know. She does love to chew/suck on her hands, so that could be teething or just her being a baby.

One of the times she was doing this, I was able to get a burp out of her and it helped. But other times she doesn't need to burp.

Ugh such a mystery!

My guy is doing this right now at 10wks. Some quick internet research + talking to my LC has given me the suspicion that it's reflux. We're trying MSPI right now.

Also read that it could be early teething.

My baby also does this when he has gas, but the other times I'm not 100% on why. And he does it most of the time like your babe. Sometimes he goes in to a full cry after feeding, other times just repeatedly pulling off and seems a little flustered.. Soo, I feel your pain. :/ Sorry I can't help more.

We have definitely dealt with this. He would cry so much that he would refuse to eat even though he was sooo hungry. He refused both the bottle and the breast. He hasn't done in a week or so but when he does, I have to calm him down and try later.

@abbydabbydoodlebug: we have the same baby. I'm currently (like in between typing this) dealing with it. What I have noticed is he cries the most when he's nursing tired. So sometimes I try to get him to sleep. Doesn't help all the time, but it does sometimes.

@Rockies11: she actually nurses better when she's sleepy, but I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one who dealt with fussy babies around this time. It's almost like she has to CIO before she can eat. I feel like I'm walking on eggshells around my own kid because I don't know what will set her off. She's started crying if I start while nursing. Or if someone else is talking. So I have to whisper of I want to talk. Not every time she nurses but most times now. I'm so frustrated.

We had that problem for sure at 4 months during our (terrible) 4 month sleep regression. I think it was because nursing makes her sleepy so she would nurse for a bit, get a bit sleepy, and then flip the eff out because there was no way girlfriend was going to fall asleep!

LO is turning 16 weeks this week and I think we've started the 4 month sleep regression because her naps are a little worse and her night sleep is bad. Maybe 3.5 hrs the first stretch and 1-3 after that. Anyway...

She has started crying when I feed her. Not every time but most the past couple days. Just now she was crying/wailing for 40 minutes before she finally settled and ate. Tried gripe water and that will work most times but it didn't this time. I know she's hungry because she's practically pulling my breast to her mouth, but after sucking for a while, she get slower and lighter until she pauses and then comes off and wails. I have no idea what's goingon!

She has mspi and I thought maybe it's something I ate but I've been home and eating all the foods I normally do. I read somewhere that the 4 month sleep regression can cause babies to be fussy at the breast. Anyone have this happen? Or do I need to make an appt? Could it be reflux and be showing up late? It was so heartbreaking just listening to her cry and there wasn't anything I could do. :(
