DH's brother lives nearby though, like 15-20 minutes away. I don't think he will be a lot of help with the baby, but having family nearby is still nice. My mom went to work from our place for the first month to help me with cookin cleaning taking csre of baby. LOVE MY MOMMMMM.</p> <p>When we were househunting, wr made a decision to stay in MI despite the bad economy because we wanted to be near our parents. We're so glad we did. MIL is always so willing to help out. I allows me to maintain a little of a social life that I wouldn't otherwise have. Plus, she is there to fill in the gaps. For instance, on Monday, LO had pink eye so the daycare called for us to get him. I couldn't leave work and DH wasn't available, but she was happy to pick him up. AND she loves it. </p> <p>My family is 9 hours away (by car) and I wish they were closer for the interaction side of things.
