We use a visual timer app! Dinner is x minutes long, and you need to take bites and stay focused until the timer is up otherwise you will be hungry!

Oh yeah. My 19mo eats SO slowly I usually try to allow her an hour for lunch and dinner. I put her in a clamp-on high chair across the counter from me while I prepare & clean up lunch and dinner. Breakfast is slow, too, but not quite as bad. If we are on the go & she eats a pouch, it is gone within a couple minutes, so I think it's just the sensory experience of eating finger foods herself for lunch/dinner and watching me do stuff.

Like.... forever! He will sit at the table talking and singing and playing and yes, eating for over an hour at dinner. I'm like, Dude, eat and then we can go play. But the thing is, he eats all of his food. Meat, veggies, everything. So I hate to take it away before he is done because he really eats it. And he eats slowly at lunch at school too and doesn't always get to finish his food and is hungry. :( Do you have a slow eater? What do you do?
