We keep two paci plushies in the crib all the time (they are easier for her to find and also harder for her to throw out of the crib or knock out accidentally) and also two regular pacis. And then I keep a bowl of pacis on the end table next to her glider so when I (inevitably) go in to replace her pacis several times per night (because she often refuses to wake up enough to look for her paci when she looses it) I don't have to search around. so by morning she can easily have 6 pacis in there.... lol

@tysonja: Those are the ones we have! The plastic clip part with the Velcro. She knows how to undo the Velcro so tonight I sort of tied it in a knot instead, we will see!

We would just put a million in there. It gets really bad when they get a preference for one particular one and will scream until you give it back. I hate pacifiers!!!

My son never took to a pacifier but my niece had this issue - they called her "soother lil' jon" cause they would put her down with a soother on every finger, like she was a rapper covered in diamond jewellery. I belive they also had more just hanging around in the crib! When they weaned her off it recently I think they had to give away like 20 soothers to the soother fairy.

Oh man my kid did that. Or when we were rock him to sleep he would take it out of his mouth and throw it across the room. Such self sabotage!

My pediatrician said to just load the crib up with tons of pacis. Probably not a great idea, but at least you know that she has to throw a few out before the issue arises.

I don't know what this new phase is but I don't like it! LO who just turned one has learned to unhook her pacifier from the clip and then throws it out of her crib. Of course then she screams until I go back in and give it to her. I know I didn't help the problem by going in and giving it back but now I need tips on how to handle it from here. Just stop going in? Get a different clip? Wean her from the dang thing? Help! :)
