@Foodnerd81: That's EXACTLY what happened to Paige! Threw up all over me as I was getting ready to nurse her. So gross. But then we cleaned her up, then she ate, went back to sleep and acted like nothing was wrong. Hubs said it was like she'd been out drinking, and needed to puke to feel better. Hope C feels better!

@Foodnerd81: Well, I figured the ladies were right, and I should call to cancel. So I called my friend, who has 3 kids, to cancel and she said that if nothing else had happened that she was probably fine and to come anyways. All my worrying for nothing. I also asked the ped at P's 6-mo appt about random vomitings and she said it was probably nothing. If it had been food related, she would have expected it to happen within a few hours of eating it. How's C acting now? P was perfectly happy after her puking.

@Grace: What ended up happening?

C just threw up all over her crib. I gave her strawberries today for the first time. Now I'm paranoid it's an allergy, or it could be a bug, or it could be a fluke. She didn't really eat a lot today, I guess I know why...

I would definitely stay home in case it's a bug! Xander had the norovirus and threw up twice and passed it on to everyone in my family. He seemed totally find after throwing up, but we all got sick the next couple days and were so much more sick than he ever seemed to get!

I'm not sure about the carrots though. My guess is it's a bug, but you could try giving carrots again in a couple days and see if there's more vomiting. Then you'll know it's probably the carrots!

My dd did something similar last week... I fed her pears, she threw up (projectile vomiting not just spit up). I thought it was a fluke so gave her her bottle a little while later and same thing - vomited everywhere but no fever.

I took her to the dr since we all had a bad case of the flu in my house and the dr said it was probably the gastro. He said to give her pedialyte to keep her from getting dehydrated. By the evening she was back to her happy self.

Hope her LO is feeling better!

Since she threw up twice, I would probably stay home in case it's a bug. My LO had a bug like that a few months ago and was playing normally, no other symptoms, etc...but then my husband and I got sick with it 24 hours later.

Not sure about introducing new foods, though, and if that might have something to do with it. My LO never had any reactions like that when we gave him new foods to try.

I need advice. Last night LO (6 mo old) woke screaming. Went to check on her and she had vomited all over. Cleaned her up changed her clothes and sheets and she threw up again. No fever, seemed happy as a clam, was playing as we cleaned her up. She didn't have any more vomiting episodes, slept decent, seems normal this morning. She did have a new food yesterday. We gave her carrots for the first time around noon. Can babies throw up 12 hours after getting a new food? We have a 1st birthday party to go to today. Do we go, since she seems fine? Or stay home in case it's a bug, so that the other kiddies don't get it?
