@Bao: I definitely had similar concerns about OCD, but I really don't think that's what it is...and I encourage it a bit, now (cleaning up toys, especially ;) )

I think it's pretty normal. Evan has to put everything in it's place, and is pretty anal about it...like, today I put my boots in the "wrong" place, and he chided me about it before putting them in the "right" place. Toys have to be picked up and put away...in a certain order.

I don't think it's real OCD. I think it's just a way he exercises control over his life. We make so many decisions for him...when he gets up, what he eats for breakfast, what he does in school, when and how long he can bathe, etc etc, that he sort of takes the control over the freedoms he does have to a bit of an extreme (if that makes sense?)

Alright, so normally this would be awesome, my kid wants to pick up all of her toys, however...

LO has recently been picking up all of her stuff when she is done, and making sure nothing is left out of place. The other night she tucked my younger LO in with me and we were just about to shut the door and she started crying because her sisters room wasn't picked up. I let her go back in and put her sisters toys on the book shelf. This evening she wanted me to help her put the rest of the toys away in the playroom. Does this sound like something that is just a phase or something normal that a 3 year old would want to do? I just worry because I don't want it to become some OCD type thing, I mean she is pretty particular as is. On that note, I myself am a pretty neat person, I like to pick things up before moving onto something else but I hope that isn't rubbing off on her in a negative way. Again, I think it's great she wants to pick things up but they way she acts about it makes me a little nervous. Can anyone relate?
