Besides feeding, board books (especially with flaps) keep him occupied in the car. She stopped napping in the car 6 months ago or so (16 months now), but I don't mind that too much because at least we don't risk having the short little car naps that mess up our daily schedule! For the most part I ride in the back during longer trips with a bunch of stuff that I can pull out and show her. She's really into stickers right now so that works well, but I know your LO is probably too young for that! I also feed her Cheerios or goldfish one by one over the course of a long trip. We rIsk spoiling her next meal, but it's a trade off to avoid the screaming. We have had the same struggle. She's 19 months now and we're finally able to do an hour ride to the grandparent's house without meltdowns (most of the time). Snacks and new books work well, music does too, a show on the tablet is my last resort. I either have to try to entertain her endlessly (if I am sitting in the back with her), or keep offering snacks. But if we're on like a 1+ hr ride, I can't keep giving her food?! And I get car sick after a while! </p> <p>Any tips? </p>
