When your baby goes to bed light a candle, make some tea or coffee, maybe put on your favorite show and/or read a good book or fun magazine. I tried to get our of the house at least once a day, had lunch with friends, went in walks at the park, etc. Hang in there! Y'all will do great on your own. Text pictures and videos to Dad every day, cause I am sure he is having a hard time too. He only travels once a month or every other month, but I think in some ways it's harder that way because it's not "normal." I try to stay super busy when he's gone. We fill up our days with play dates and errands. I have friends whose husbands travel or work late a lot, so I'll ask them and their kids over for dinner. I tend to put LO down for bed a little earlier, and then watch TV and movies that he doesn't care for before going to bed early myself. Since I'm by myself I'm more busy but when lo goes to bed I watch tv shows he doesn't want to watch, do grad school stuff, do things I don't bother to do with dh. DH works late so I feel like I solo parent a lot, I mean over 12 hrs a day alone with baby all the time. I think just taking care of baby by myself is distraction enough. I'll turn on some shows in the background to watch while feeding or eating.
