I wouldn't worry too much about it if the doc didn't tell you to. I know, easier said than done ;-)
In fact, for no apparent reason, my nearly 5 month old didn't finish 3 of his 4 bottles today. He normally has 8oz 4x per day, no night feedings. Today he had 8oz, 3oz, 6oz and 6oz. At first I worried, but then I realized that I am offering it and he's not accepting it, so he must be OK without it.
My doc has assured me several times that they will let us know when they are and aren't hungry. If weight gain is OK, I wouldn't stress. And having a long napper is a good problem to have ;-)

If there's no weight gain issues then id leave the issue alone. Babies know better then we do how much they need to eat or sleep. Don't you have days where you're less hungry or more tired then usual? My take on it is I don't eat or sleep the same amounts every day so why would I expect my baby to?

I wake to feed still at 8 mo. But I've also come to accept low volume days because for a really long time my LO was on the low side (20-24 oz/day). My personal rule/goal was to not worry if she ate at least 18-20 oz/day but I tried to give her an opportunity to eat at least 24.

@Chuckles: I don't think is having weight gain issues. She was fine at her 4 month check up. I'm just always worried that she isn't eating enough because her volume is slightly lower than the average. You're right that 1 day of low intake is provably not a big deal.

Ever since having a baby I seem to worry about every single little thing concerning her.

I honestly don't remember how long S was napping at 4 months, but try to think of milk intake over the course of a few days or a week. Skipping a feeding once in awhile shouldn't be a big deal. Is your LO having weight gain issues or just eating on the low end of normal for volume?

I'm constantly trying to make sure my 4 month old gets enough to eat because she is already eating on the low side. I feed her every 3 hours during the day (5x/day). I usually wake her from her nap if its time to eat. But, at daycare, they arent allowed to wake sleeping babies unless its been super long. She has skipped a feeding, and now hasnt gotten enough for the day. Even if she has skipped a feeding, she isn't taking more than what she usually drinks in a feeding. If your LO is a long napper, how do you make sure they are getting enough to eat during the day? This is probably a dumb question, but I get worried that LO isn't eating enough. If she continues to nap longer at daycare, I worry that she really will not be getting the food she needs.

She napped for 2.5 hours. That has never happened. How long do you let your LO nap?
