Thanks! Sounds like I should get a mix, so that's what I'll plan on doing! I agree that long sleeves will be best for when we're inside in the A/C, but I'll get some short sleeves for when we're outside/go for walks.

I also agree! I had DS in July of the hottest summer on record, and totally underestimated the need for lond-sleeved onesies and pants. I used to put long sleeved onesies on under all the cute short sleeves onesies that he got as gifts. If we went to sit outside in the shade, I'd strip him down to just a onesie so he didnt overheat. It was totally backwards!

@T.H.O.U.: lol! DD was born in March in Canada and we had her in just short sleeve onsies for her frist two weeks because there was a heat wave here! I guess you never know right?

I think getting a mix would be best. DD runs really hot, she overheated easily so we tend to dress her lightly. My BFF's little guy needs layers and layer to stay warm.

I had a July baby and he was mostly in cotton pants and a short sleeve onesie. I had some lighter cotton long sleeves that I put him in too. Always put socks on him too because his feet were so skinny and cold! We were mostly indoors or out for a walk in the early morning.

I agree with @T.H.O.U.: that you'll still want long sleeves and pants because of A/C.

@lawbee11: I was due in August in Florida and we pretty much ALWAYS had her in long sleeves and long pants. The reason was we were pretty much always indoors which means cool a/c and she needed to be covered.

By the time she was 6-8 weeks, I think we went to some short sleeve stuff but then she started daycare and I wanted her covered there.

I'm due in August. In Texas. Which means it's guaranteed to be at least in the 90s when baby is born, and it will probably be in the 80s through October. Do you still think I should stock up on onesies with long sleeves and pants? Or should I get more that have short sleeves? I know babies need to be kept warm, but I don't want her to overheat (we're planning to swaddle in a+a blankets because they're so light and breathable). What do y'all think?
