I personally would only ever use Young Living EO.

I use Cedarwood oil diffused at night, and I have a roller ball that I put on her feet and back with lavender and peace and calming in it! We've never had bedtime issues at all, except for teething times of course!! Hahah

Young Living: lavender (diluted with lotion or coconut oil), peace and calming, or gentle baby. i also diffuse lavender when she's really having a hard time settling down.

What brand do you use? Plant Therapy Kid Safe Line
What kind(s)? I use nighty night blend, sniffle stopper blend, and then two pre-diluted roll on's - germ destroyer and immunity booster
How do you use it - see above - I diffuse two for night time sleep and then use the two pre-diluted roll on's.

My DD is almost 3 and has a suuuuper hard time winding down for bed lately too. I use doterra and use an immunity rollerball on her feet and diffuse lavender or their Serenity blend. She's still full of energy though so I'm not sure if it's helping. :meh:

I use Young Living and diffuse lavender and Peace and Calming. Sometimes I will place the lavender directly on them.

@CakeLady: oh yeah. My ped warned when my son was REALLY young that baths can be stimulating for some kids instead of relaxing. Any way to separate the bath from bedtime? I have one friend that does it BEFORE dinner since it winds her daughter up.
(Sorry I'm going a little OT since you asked about essential oils and not wind down tips!)

@gotkimchi: @Jackiedavis87: @Coral: Thanks, these sound like great options!

@SweetiePie: We have a lavender bubble bath that we use sometimes - the bubbles in the bath get him really excited. He might go for the sleepy tea though. He is totally into "special drinks" since we pretty much only do water and milk.

@CakeLady: Another fan of Nighty Night! I love Plant Therapy because they use quality ingredients, are HUGE on essential oil education, and you don't have to pay the price for an MLM.

What about some of the calming bubble baths for babies? I think California baby makes one if you're into the more natural route. But we've been using the j&j bedtime bath for about a year and really love it. Or even Dr Teals bubble baths are made with essential oils.

Also, I know it's not what you asked for - but there is a sleepy tea for kids. No experience with the kids one but I use the adult one for myself and like it.

I use doterra essential oils. My fitness/health trainer swears by a diffuser, but I just roller ball everything. These are a bunch of good diffuser blends you could use.

DS is 2yr 9mos and has been having a really hard time settling down to fall asleep. We do a very long bedtime routine which helps him relax but even after an hour+ of bath, books, songs, it still takes him a long time to fall asleep.

I'd love to try essential oils to help him relax, but I don't know anything about them. I'd love your reccos!

What brand do you use?
What kind(s)?
How do you use it - diffuser, topical, something other way?
Other tips?
