We chose the one in our little suburb town. It's in a church, but not church based. It's not tied to any particular style, though the teacher has a Montessori background. We were definitely NOT looking for academic rigor in a preschool, but rather safety, convenience, and fun. We wanted to send her to a public preschool, and I could only find two. One I wasn't crazy about (and they only took kids 3+), and the second we fell in love with. Younger than that, daycare is the only option. In terms of types once you hit 2.9, there are tons! Ideally, I would like her to go twice a week for 2 to 2.5 hours. </p> <p>We wanted to send her to a Montessori preschool, but unfortunately, they don't accept children under age 3 (she will be 2.5 in September). The larger centers seem to operate more like daycares - I would have to pay for a full day even if I only want to keep her there for a couple hours, and it seems like there's no real curriculum. </p> <p>It looks like most of the morning preschools in our area are run by churches. We're Christian and churchgoers, so totally fine with us, but I was surprised that there weren't more options available. </p> <p>Just curious what sort of part-time preschool options are available in your area? </p>
