We've been talking about when our dog passes, if we should get another one right away or not. Logic says not b/c we'd most like have 2 by then so between $ and time/energy, it's probably better to wait till kids are a little older. I'd say it's super normal for your other dog to sense the loss and be depressed for awhile. Our DDO #2 (dear dog #2) looks to our DDO #1 for every move. It is so hard to lose a pet. It's been almost 3 years since we lost our sweet Charlie very suddenly and I still think of her all the time. Our younger dog was very attached to her - he would whine and cry if I let her out without him, and would freak out if we took her to a vet appt and left him alone without her. I was very nervous as to how he would do without her. He adjusted so easily, though (easier than DH and me!). He didn't eat for a couple days, but that didn't last very long. Within a week he had stopped looking for her and had stopped carrying her precious frisbees around. After two weeks he was completely back to normal. I got her for DH when we were 20 for V-day, she is like our milestone pup, been through first house, engagement, wedding, first kid....<br /> She was such a presense in our home, and it feels so empty! I am feeling OK, but DH is really upset!<br /> Hoping we get back in our groove of life soon!<br /> Our other dog seems miserable and hasn't ate much this weekend! So so sad!</p> <p>Anyone lose a dog and have another get depressed?!
